Texas State University Round Rock Campus
TXST RRC, previously known as the Round Rock Higher Education Center (RRHEC), was established in 1996. By 2004, the 15 temporary buildings in a lot adjacent to Westwood High School were full to capacity.
Rendering of the proposed Avery building
In 2003, the Avery family of Round Rock donated 101 acres in northeast Round Rock to allow the former RRHEC to create its own campus.
Construction of the Avery building
Construction began in 2004. The Avery building opened its doors on August 26, 2005. The 125,000-square-foot building was designed to offer instruction and student support in one building.
