Chi Sigma Iota (Sigma Tau Sigma Chapter)
Description : CSI is an international honor society that values academic and professional excellence in counseling.
Purpose : The purpose of the Society shall be to promote scholarship, research, professionalism, and excellence in counseling, and to recognize high attainment in the pursuit of academic and clinical excellence in the profession of counseling.
Membership Requirements : 3.5 GPA, completed 6 graduate hours within the Professional Counseling program

Hispanic Student Physical Therapy Association (HSPTA)
Description : Offering networking opportunities for Hispanic physical therapy students with a focus on spreading awareness of PT within the Spanish speaking community.
Purpose : Mission: HSPTA is devoted to increasing the accessibility of health care for Spanish speaking individuals by providing educational, professional, and leadership opportunities to Hispanic physical therapy students. Vision: HSPTA is taking the initiative to strengthen our interpersonal skills, further our professional development, and promote an enriching experience of the Spanish language for the advancement of accessible health care in the Hispanic community.
Membership Requirements : Members must be current Texas State students in good standing with their department and the graduate college.

National Student Speech Language Hearing Association (NSSLHA)
NSSLHA stands for the National Student Speech Language Hearing Association and is recognized by ASHA (American Speech-Language Hearing Association) as the only national student org for students that are pre-professionals looking to enter the communication sciences and disorders (CSD).
Purpose : Provide students with interests in Speech-Language Pathology career information, pre-professional events as well as social gatherings.
Membership Requirements : Membership is open to all students.

Respiratory Care Student Association (RCSA)
Description : The mission of the respiratory care association is to promote public awareness of the respiratory care profession, participate in community health promotions and educational activities, provide a student support system, and raise funds to support goals of advancing the education of students. RCSA is dedicated to developing future professionals and keeping students up-to-date on the changing world of respiratory care.
Purpose : Promoting leadership, excellence, and community service, while raising awareness of respiratory health on campus and throughout the community.
Membership Requirements : Pursuing a degree/career in respiratory care.

SERTOMA (Service To Mankind)
Description : SERTOMA (Service to Mankind) is a community service organization that puts its focus on helping the healthcare community. Along with community service projects, we also raise funds to donate to local organizations and provide services to individuals in need. Our organization is sponsored by the Local San Marcos SERTOMA and chartered by SERTOMA International.
Purpose : SERTOMA exists for the high and noble purpose of service to mankind by communication of thoughts, ideas, and concepts to accelerate human progress in health, education, freedom, and democracy.
Membership Requirements : Members receive points for attendance to meetings, events, fundraising and volunteer work.

Student Nursing Organization (SNO)
Description : Student Nursing Organization provides opportunities for nursing education, programming of fundamental interests and concerns to nursing students, and provides developmental opportunities.
Purpose : To contribute to nursing education in order to provide the highest quality of health care in the future. The nursing students at Texas State University will actively participate in community health education through charitable, professional, and social events. The organization shall provide information, act as a liaison between students and faculty at the School of Nursing, attend charitable events, and assist members in developing leadership skills.

Phi Beta Sigma
Description : The brothers of Phi Beta Sigma are the Fraternity's most valuable resource and strength. They are the primary means by which the Phi Beta Sigma objectives will be achieved. In order to accomplish the Fraternity's objectives, it is essential that systems are instituted that effectively embody "Culture For Service and Service For Humanity" and promote brotherhood, scholarship, and service.
Purpose : To optimize Phi Beta Sigma's effectiveness, the Fraternity will: Strengthen and serve proactively the brotherhood, as a supportive resource that positively impacts the Fraternity's growth and financial solvency. Reaffirm and maintain a strong commitment to brotherhood, scholarship, and service. Ensure that the Fraternity programs are focused and committed to serving humanity. Create an environment that respects the dignity and worth of each brother. Exhibit integrity and ethical behavior in conducting the Fraternity's business. serving as a model for all Greek-letter organizations. Maintain and improve the Fraternity's technological literacy, in order to better service its members and the community at large. Foster and nurture our constitutional bond with Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Encourage a closer and mutually beneficial working relationship with fellow Greek-letter organizations, other community service organizations, businesses, and government.
Membership Requirements : Currently enrolled at Texas State University. Minimum 2.5 GPA. Minimum Sophomore classification.
