Is the Round Rock Campus accredited?
Yes. Texas State University is accredited by the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools, Commission on Colleges to award baccalaureate, master's, and doctoral degrees. The scope of regional accreditation extends to the Round Rock Campus, an approved off-campus instructional site.

Can I complete my degree by taking classes only on the Round Rock Campus?

If you are enrolled in nursing, communication disorders, respiratory care, health information management, radiation therapy, and physical therapy degree programs, you can take all junior, senior, and graduate-level classes on the Round Rock Campus. A list of the programs available on the Round Rock Campus can be found on the Academics page.
For other degree programs, class offerings will vary each semester. Please check with your college advisors for clarification. Make sure to indicate to your admissions counselor or college advisor that you are interested in taking courses at the Round Rock Campus for accurate information.

If I complete my degree at the Round Rock Campus, what will my diploma say?
Students who complete their degree requirements at the Round Rock Campus earn a degree from Texas State University. The diploma does not specify which campus students attended.

Students will have access to in-person student services on the Round Rock Campus or remotely with service departments on the San Marcos Campus.

Is student housing offered at the Round Rock Campus?
Currently, student housing is not offered at the Round Rock Campus. Students can work with the Department of Housing and Residential Life for off-campus living selections.

All students applying should use the “Texas State University – San Marcos” school code.
Students are designated as Round Rock students when they register for specific courses located at our Round Rock Campus.
Students interested in courses offered on the Round Rock Campus should indicate this to their academic advisors for course planning.

Do I send my official transcripts to the Round Rock Campus directly?
Undergraduate students
For undergraduates, it is recommended to submit transcripts to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at this address:

Are there different admissions requirements for different departments or majors?
Admission requirements depend on the major you have selected. Beyond general university admission requirements, you may need to meet additional entry requirements for your program. For example, most majors in the College of Health Professions have a secondary application process with specific deadlines. Visit the website for your major to check for additional admission requirements.

If I enroll in courses at the Round Rock Campus, will I be studying with the same faculty members as in San Marcos?
Most faculty members who teach courses at the Round Rock Campus also teach in San Marcos. Even when faculty members teach only in Round Rock, they are selected on the same basis as faculty members in the same program at our San Marcos Campus.
The classes offered at our Round Rock Campus are of the same rigor and quality as the classes at our San Marcos Campus.
Transfer Students

Can I attend ACC first, then transfer to the Round Rock Campus to complete my bachelor’s degree?
Yes, it is recommended that you complete most of your lower-level courses before applying to Texas State University if you plan to take classes on the Round Rock Campus. Use a Transfer Planning Guide for help selecting courses that will transfer and apply to your degree plan.
While the Austin Community College Career and Transfer Center can assist students with preparing to transfer, it is recommended they contact our Texas State Transfer Navigators and Admissions Counselors for the most up-to-date information. Transfer navigators and admissions counselors also visit ACC campuses on a regular basis and are available virtually.

How do I know how many academic credits will transfer?

- Reach out to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions or the Transfer Center to review your evaluated transcript with you and learn how your credits have initially transferred to Texas State.
I have earned admission to TXST:
- After you sign up for New Student Orientation (NSO), make an appointment with your academic advisor. If you would like to see and review your evaluated transcript to prepare for your meeting with your academic advisor, please reach out to the Transfer Center.
- Submit your official transcript(s) to the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at the address below for an initial credit evaluation. This process can take 2-3 weeks.

Undergraduate students

If a Texas State program is accredited by a programmatic accreditor, does the same accreditation apply when the program is offered in Round Rock?
Yes. Since Texas State University has a single faculty, a single student body, and a single inventory of degree programs, all programs with professional accreditation that are offered at the San Marcos Campus also have the same professional accreditation at our Round Rock Campus.

No, the Texas State Round Rock Campus also offers numerous opportunities in the following colleges: Education, Science and Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, Fine Arts and Communication, and Applied Arts.

Can I take all of the coursework required for a Texas State degree at the Round Rock Campus?
Bachelor's degrees
For bachelor’s programs offered in Round Rock, lower-division coursework must be completed at the San Marcos Campus, another institution, or a community college.
Upper-level coursework (junior and senior levels) can be completed at the Round Rock Campus if classes are offered on campus. The Texas State Round Rock Campus offers numerous opportunities in Health Professions as well as the following colleges: Education, Science and Engineering, Business, Liberal Arts, Fine Arts and Communication, and Applied Arts.
Master's degrees
For master’s programs offered in Round Rock, the coursework can be completed by taking either in-person classes or online.

When are classes typically offered at the Round Rock Campus?
Please note that programs are expanding in fall 2023. Check back for updated information.
It depends on your program requirements. Courses in the College of Health Professions are offered during the day on campus with off-campus clinical sites you will need to travel to.
Many classes on the Round Rock Campus are offered after 5 p.m. or beginning at 6:30 p.m., giving students time to leave work and arrive on campus.

Can I simultaneously enroll in courses on Texas State's San Marcos Campus and the Round Rock Campus?
Yes, however, please be advised that if you are a financial aid recipient, you must select one school as your primary institution. The federal policy only allows students to receive financial aid from one institution at a time.
When completing your FAFSA, please enter our school code (003615) or search for Texas State University and it will appear in the list of schools you can add.

Can I attend all my courses at Round Rock Campus in-person?
If you are enrolled in one of the following degree programs you can take all the junior and senior level as well as graduate level classes on the Round Rock Campus:

Am I guaranteed all my classes will be offered in Round Rock or will I have to drive down to San Marcos?
This depends on your program and your degree plan. Students will have the opportunity to register for different methods of classroom instruction. In your schedule builder, please confirm that you have selected either Round Rock Campus or Online Only to ensure your classes are in Round Rock or online.
