The Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences (B.A.A.S.) in Aviation Science with a Rotary Wing Concentration prepares students for professional careers in helicopter aviation. Students complete Texas State coursework while pursuing rotorcraft flight training through a designated TXST flight partner, combining aviation coursework with training in the precision skills required for rotor-wing operations, including hover control, low-altitude navigation, and confined-area operations. Admission is competitive; students must be admitted to Texas State University and a designated flight partner and meet applicable Federal Aviation Administration requirements.
